For far too long, the
world of poetry has been locked away in coffee shops and expensive bookstores,
languishing in the hands of those who would isolate it from the general public.
They would make poetry pessimistic and obscure to any would-be readers. They
would disconnect it from the common man.
No more.
With the opening of the
twenty-first century, poetry has become stagnant and is in desperate need
of a fresh perspective. And we, the New Romantics, plan to be that fresh perspective.
We are the Davids in this world full of Goliaths, swearing to put all our
creative energies to improving the flow and rhythm of poetry.
We will study the masters
of poetry who have come before us and learn from their artistry and their
vision. We will write good poetry that appeals to areas of the public that
do not usually read poetry. We will concentrate our poetry not only on our
own lives, but also the lives of our fellow man and woman. We will write poetry
of all forms and styles, but we will do so to the best of our abilities. We
will promote ourselves in places that are not traditional places for the poet.
We will change the
world one E-mail and one poem at a time. We are the New Romantics, and our
movement has begun.
If you believe the same,
then Join us or spread the name of the New Romantics.
