    • Romantics Quarterly has subscription and poetry submission infomation, as well as sample poetry, and much more. Some of the best of contemporary romantic poets are there, including editor Kevin Roberts, Michael Pendragon, and Michael Burch.

      WritersNet(SM) is the best collection of publishers, agents, and writers on the Internet, as well as being a great source of information on the writing world. It's a great place to start for any type of writer.

      Creative Communications works to motivate young poets. They have a free newsletter for teachers on tips for teaching poetry that they would like to share with web patrons. They provide a poetry contest for students in grades 4-12 and give teachers who have 5 or more students who write poems of high merit a free copy of the anthology that contains their student’s poem.

      Merriam-Webster Dictionary and Thesaurus a must use for all writers.

      Rhymer.com is an online rhyming dictionary. Get familiar with rhyming sounds and words. It will help you write better.


  • Contests
    • Poetry.com sponsors a contest for $1000 dollars every month. The submission must be twenty (20) lines in length or less.

      Oberlin University Press sponsors a book competition every year. Manuscripts between sixty (60) and eighty (80) pages must be postmarked in the month of May. (Note: This contest has not been very friendly to the New Romantics in the past.)

    • The Onion provides witty and humorous takes on American politics and news--great inspiration for any poet.
